The sudden violent sneezing, the itchy eyes, the blocked nose and this general sense of befuddledness: For about 20 percent of the population in Switzerland, the warmer months are often ruined by a more or less strong pollen allergy aka hay fever.

{Anzeige/sponsored} As some members of my family are affected with this condition, I did some research for which I teamed up with the experts of @dyson.

Spoiler: There’s no fool proof way of preventing these symptoms, but according to @dyson, we can reduce the impact of them.

➡️ Dry washing inside (hung up outside, the pollen will stick to the wet washing).

➡️ Leave windows and doors closed to prevent a build-up of pollen in the house.

➡️ Change clothes as soon as you get home.

➡️ Wear sunglasses when outside to protect your eyes.

➡️ Take a shower or a bath before bedtime to remove any build-up of pollen on your body.

➡️ If you are a pet owner, try wiping the fur down with a damp cloth to catch the pollen.

➡️ Improve indoor air quality with a device with a HEPA and ACTIVE carbon FILTER like for example the Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde which filters 99.95% of particles such as pollen, dust and viruses.

PS: Since allergies are not only in high season in spring but can affect our well-being all year – I guess you know that pets are common triggers as well – I asked @dyson for more tips which you find in today's blogpost on sonrisa. 📚 Ten year old Auggie was born with a facial deformation, which is the reason why he was homeschooled by his parents until the day he‘s sent to a real school. Facing many challenges, Auggie struggles a lot, but he also grows every day a bit more. At the (happy) end, he overcomes not only many obstacles, but also makes clear, that kindness always wins. I cried my eyes out several times during the lecture of this funny and heartwarming story by R.J. Palacio, so don‘t say I didn‘t warn you.

During the the pandemic, @peterdohertyofficial teamed up with French composer @frederic.lo.official to record the album, The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime which is an amazing mix between Brit pop songs and french chansons.

The reality show „L‘ Agence“ follows the french Kretz family on a tour of some of France's most beautiful luxury real estate properties in a very entertaining way.

Those who follow me for a while (thank you so much!) do know that I stand firmly behind the idea that beauty is much more than our looks – it's confidence, happiness and positive energy.

On the other hand, I can tell from my own experience, that especially the appearance of the skin has the potential to influence on how we feel. In my case it‘s this wrinkle between my brows which sometimes makes me so cranky I want to wear sunglasses all day long.

Another major skin concern for many people is hyperpigmentation that normally manifests in the form or dark spots or patches, but also can appear in other variations. {Anzeige/sponsored} To find out more, I asked the experts from @caudalie to explain me the different forms of discoloration. Here’s what I’ve learned:

Sun and age spots: This form of hyperpigmentation is caused by overexposure to UV rays, mainly from the age of 40.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: The term of skin discoloration that happens after certain skin trauma, such as acne, a rash or a cut.

Melasma: Also known as ‘pregnancy mask’, this form of hyperpigmentation shows up as patches on the cheeks, the nose, the forehead, the chin and above the upper lip. It‘s commonly triggered by hormonal changes.

➡️ Fun fact: Though the reasons behind different types of hyperpigmentation may vary, there are a few universal practices to treat them:

✔️ Always use sun protection, because the sun stimulates more melanin production.

✔️ In case you have any impurities, don't touch them or otherwise you risk a scar.

✔️Choose special skincare products for your needs like the Vinoperfect Radiance collection by @caudalie whose effectiveness has been clinically proven on the six skin phototypes and on all the different dark spots. It's formula with Viniferine – a natural antioxidant found in vine sap that regulates the pigmentation progess – is suitable for all skin types as well as for use during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
